“Relevant regulatory and legal acts are adopted for the development of the green energy industry in our country, Karabakh and East Zangazur economic regions, and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic have been declared green energy zones. Azerbaijan, together with its foreign partners, has started to implement large projects to develop the field of renewable energy. The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has signed an order declaring 2024 as the ‘Green World Solidarity Year’ in the country. This is an indication of great attention and a sensitive attitude toward environmental protection. The unanimous decision to hold the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Azerbaijan is not only a manifestation of the international community's great respect and trust in our country but also the next success achieved in the new stage of our development. The Organizing Committee, established by the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev, carries out relevant technical and organizational measures related to the realization of the global event. COP29, which will be held at a high level under the slogan of ‘In Solidarity for a Green World’, will not only be an important contribution to solving this problem of global importance but will also demonstrate the strong potential of our country to the whole world,” Samir Nuriyev said.
