FM: Azerbaijan expecting early conclusion of peace treaty with Armenia

Azerbaijan has consistently demonstrated political will and supported intensive direct negotiations, and also expects an early signing of a peace treaty with Armenia, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at the 9th trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Türkiye and Georgia in Baku, Report informs.

The foreign minister noted that Azerbaijan remains committed to restoring peace in the region.

He said that recently meetings were held at the level of the leaders of the two countries, as well as at the level of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia.

“These meetings provide a basis for development [in promoting a peace treaty] and a simplicity of approach to the political issues of the two countries,” Bayramov added.

The minister stressed that Azerbaijan hopes that international actors will support direct bilateral negotiations in a fair and impartial manner.
