During the meeting, the discussions revolved around the bilateral and regional issues between the two countries, as well as the current situation in the region.

The Iranian Minister once again offered his congratulations on the successful conclusion of Azerbaijan's presidential election and President Ilham Aliyev's re-election, highlighting their significance as they were conducted across the entire territory of Azerbaijan.

Ministers also discussed the reopening of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan following the court decision regarding a terror attack against the embassy.

The ministers discussed the extension of high-level contacts, emphasized the importance of the Azerbaijan-Iran Intergovernmental Commission on Joint Economic Cooperation, and outlined plans for the development of regional transport and communication corridors.

Minister Bayramov highlighted the opportunities for cooperation created by the upcoming 29th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), to be held in Azerbaijan this year.

Minister Bayramov updated his Iranian counterpart on the current regional situation, as well as the current state and prospects of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

During the meeting, Bayramov underscored that Armenia is engaging third parties in the region whose actions are detrimental to peace and stability. Additionally, the efforts by certain states to arm Armenia are perceived as a threat to the peace process.
