Azerbaijan`s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov has met with European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus Toivo Klaar.

The meeting revolved around the current state of Azerbaijan-European Union relations, rapprochement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and the prospects of the draft peace agreement.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided insights into the reconciliation process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, highlighting a recent incident where a serviceman of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan was injured due to another military provocation by the armed forces of Armenia. He emphasized that such provocations significantly hinder the peace process between the two countries.

Regarding the draft peace agreement, Minister Bayramov stated that Azerbaijan has presented its comments to the Armenian side and expressed Azerbaijan's eagerness to resume negotiations. He also underscored Azerbaijan's objection to Armenia's continuous claims against its territorial integrity and sovereignty, whether in the Constitution of Armenia, legislative acts, international organizations, or courts.

The pair also exchanged views on bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
