The Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Switzerland held political consultations in Baku, Report informs citing Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Azerbaijani delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev, and the Swiss delegation was headed by Muriel Peneveyre, Director of the Department for Eurasia at the Federal Department for Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation.

The sides discussed the current state and prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic, energy, transport and humanitarian spheres, as well as within the framework of international organizations.

The parties exchanged views on the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which will be held in Azerbaijan this year. It was noted that this significant event will create new opportunities for the development of cooperation.
