Italian media highlights President Ilham Aliyev's stunning victory in election

The Italian media outlets extensively covered the landslide victory of President Ilham Aliyev in the snap presidential election in Azerbaijan.

 

"Il Sole 24 Ore", "Quotidiano Nazionale", "Il Dolomiti", "Internazionale", "Tiscali", "Corriere del Ticino", "Tag24", "Destra", "L`osservatore Romano", and other media outlets emphasized that President Ilham Aliyev won the election with an overwhelming 92 percent of the votes.

 

The news highlighted that various heads of state and government congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on his confident victory.

 

President Ilham Aliyev and the family members cast their votes in Khankendi. A total of 26 polling stations were established in the liberated territories, marking the first election held across the entire territory of Azerbaijan in 30 years.

 

Over 90,000 observers, including 790 international ones and OSCE representatives, monitored the election. Approximately 4, 971,032 people (76.73 percent) cast their ballots out of the 6.5 million registered voters.
