Speaker of Azerbaijan`s Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova has met with the delegations of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (GNAT) and the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TÜRKPA).

Emphasizing the historical significance of the election for the Azerbaijani people, Sahiba Gafarova commended the monitoring of the process carried out by fraternal Turkish MPs. She noted that the presidential election was held for the first time across the entire sovereign territory of Azerbaijan, including the liberated lands.

Samil Ayrim, the head of the observation mission of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye and the head of the Azerbaijan-Türkiye interparliamentary friendship group, emphasized that the presidential election in fraternal Azerbaijan was held for the first time across the entire territory of the country. He underlined that it was a landmark event both for Türkiye and the entire Turkic world.

Osman Mesten, the head of the TURKPA international election observation mission and a member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, hailed the historical importance of the voting process the delegation observed in both Shusha and Khankendi.

“All the polling stations were organized in accordance with the legislation and in a transparent manner,” Osman Mesten added.
