In connection with the early presidential elections in the Republic of Azerbaijan, voting began at the polling station established at the country’s embassy in the Republic of Korea at 8 a.m. local time (3 a.m. Baku time), Report informs.

Due to the time difference with Baku, it began with the precinct election commission created at the Azerbaijani Embassy in Seoul.

The voting process, which will end at 7 p.m. local time, is carried out in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Electoral Code and other legislative acts in this area. The polling station is provided with the necessary visual aids, and a list of eligible voters has been compiled there.

Citizens of Azerbaijan who have reached the age of 18 and have active voting rights take part in voting using a valid passport or identity card of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The necessary conditions have been created for the free expression of the will of voters.

In addition to Azerbaijani citizens living in this country, eligible voters who, for various reasons, will be in Seoul on election day, will be able to vote at the polling station established at the Azerbaijani Embassy in the Republic of Korea.

In order to ensure the electoral rights of Azerbaijani citizens living outside the country or on long-term business trips, 49 polling stations have been created in 37 countries in the early presidential elections - the first elections that will be held in Azerbaijan after the restoration of the territorial integrity and state sovereignty of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

According to the law, voting in the presidential election will begin at 8 a.m. and end at 7 p.m. according to the local time zones of the countries. Voting at polling stations established at diplomatic missions of Azerbaijan began at the embassy of the country in the Republic of Korea and will end at the US Consulate General in Los Angeles.
