Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov has had a telephone conversation with his Polish counterpart Radosław Sikorski.
During the telephone conversation, the sides discussed bilateral cooperation agenda, as well as regional issues.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated his colleague on his new appointment. Touching upon the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Poland within the framework of bilateral and multilateral platforms, FM Bayramov highlighted the importance of high-level friendship, respect and strategic partnership between the two countries.
The parties noted the great potential for expanding bilateral cooperation between the two countries in political, economic, energy, alternative energy, humanitarian and other fields. They also underscored the importance of the political consultations, as well as parliamentary diplomacy in the development of ties. The sides stressed the significance of advancing cooperation within the framework of the Intergovernmental Commission on economic cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Poland.
FM Jeyhun Bayramov provided insight into the regional situation in the post-conflict period, noting that there are currently ample opportunities for peace since Azerbaijan regained its sovereignty over its territories.
The FM underscored the importance of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which will be held in Azerbaijan this year, in further developing bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
During the conversation, the two also exchanged views on other regional issues of mutual interest.
