Moscow is ready to organize the next round of negotiations on a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the near future, Russian Foreign Ministry's Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said in response to the claims of a number of Armenian politicians regarding Russia's efforts to promote Armenian-Azerbaijani normalization and the ineffectiveness of the high-level tripartite statements of 2020-2022, according to Report.

"Despite the importance of the latest agreements between Baku and Yerevan on the exchange of prisoners and agreement on the regulations of the Commission on the delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, the real delimitation work with the advisory assistance of Russia, which the three leaders agreed on back in November 2021, has not yet been launched. For the sake of inviting the EU mission to the country, the Armenian side refused the CSTO mechanisms for stabilizing the situation in the border zones," Zakharova said.

She noted that the stalled implementation of the above-mentioned decisions of senior leaders is "a direct result of the inconsistency of Yerevan's actions, and not Moscow's policies, as some are trying to claim."

"The way out of this difficult situation is obvious - to return to the implementation of tripartite agreements, for which the Russian side is ready to provide all the necessary assistance, the relevance and usefulness of which has been repeatedly proven. We confirm our proposal to organize the next round of negotiations on a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the very near future in Russia," Zakharova said.
