Czech parliamentarians informed about Azerbaijan's peace initiatives

Speaker of Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova has met with members of the Czech-Azerbaijani inter-parliamentary friendship group in Prague.

 

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on developing relations between the two countries and parliaments.

 

Sahiba Gafarova expressed her confidence that her first visit to the Czech Republic and the meetings held here as the speaker of the Milli Majlis would help further the relations. She stressed the importance of the parliamentary ties between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic, reciprocal visits and regular dialogue.

 

The Speaker of the Parliament noted that further expansion of contacts, especially between the friendship groups, would contribute to cooperation.

 

Sahiba Gafarova highlighted the current situation in the region, Azerbaijan's initiatives towards normalization of relations with Armenia and the signing of a peace treaty.

 

President of the Czech-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary relations working group in the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament Jan Kubik shared his positive impressions about the visits to Azerbaijan, as well as to the liberated Aghham region, and the meetings he held. Kubik stressed the importance of expanding relations between the two parliaments and reciprocal visits.

 

The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
