MFA: Georgia’s main goal - to ensure peace in region together with Baku and Yerevan

Georgia’s main goal is to ensure peace and stability in the region together with two fraternal countries - Armenia and Azerbaijan, Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili said, Report informs referring to Georgian media.

He noted that Georgia is quite successfully playing the role of an unbiased player in this process.

“Thanks to the special efforts of the prime minister and his personal relationships with the leaders of the two countries, we have achieved a concrete result in the form of a mutually beneficial agreement for both countries,” Darchiashvili added.

He noted that Armenia and Azerbaijan began to openly talk about the need for peace, about signing a peace treaty, and their rhetoric is completely focused on peace.

“Together with our two friends and brotherly nations, our main goal is to ensure peace and stability in the region,” he said.

The foreign minister noted that Georgia provides both countries with the opportunity to use the transit function on equal terms.
