Chairperson of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova has met with Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Numan Kurtulmus in Ankara.
Sahiba Gafarova chastised biased attitude and implausible information spread by some international organizations against Azerbaijan and Türkiye. She noted that Armenia’s Western patrons had made accusations against Azerbaijan based on false claims of the official Yerevan. According to her, traces of these circles are overt in the anti-Azerbaijani resolutions adopted by a number of international parliamentary organizations and parliaments of the foreign countries.
She said that during all recent years, these countries had never taken any stance on Armenia’s 30-year occupation of the Azerbaijani territories, expulsion of nearly 1 million Azerbaijanis from their native lands as a result of Armenia’s ethnic cleansing policy, destruction of the Azerbaijani cities, villages, cultural and religious monuments.
She also stressed the significance of taking joint steps against these notorious campaigns, holding more meetings and consultation between the parliamentary delegations of the two countries, as well as expanding contacts between representatives of the two friendly states.
Speaker Numan Kurtulmus said that Türkiye always stands by Azerbaijan on any platform, adding that the former conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia has been resolved thanks to Azerbaijan’s will and strength, as the country had ensured its territorial integrity and justice.
He expressed his confidence that Azerbaijan would also claim victory in diplomatic landscape, despite some states and lobby circles trying to hinder Azerbaijan’s just struggle.
