As part of his working visit to the Swiss Confederation, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Daren Tang.

They hailed the development of partnership between Azerbaijan and the World Intellectual Property Organization, and discussed the prospects for cooperation in this area.

Minister Bayramov informed Director General Tang about the ongoing reforms implemented in Azerbaijan in the sphere of intellectual property, as well as Azerbaijan’s remarkable progress in the international rating indicators.

The Azerbaijani FM noted that the sustainable development of economy, formation of a knowledge-based society and investment in the human capital were defined as one of the main strategic goals.

The meeting saw discussions on the prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and WIPO, as well as education and training programs in the fields of education and intellectual property.

They also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
