As part of cultural cooperation between the Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture and the Croatian Ministry of Culture and Media, a grand jazz concert by Azerbaijani musicians was held at the Zagreb Academy of Music on June 25.

The concert was attended by Minister Adil Karimli, Croatian officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and representatives of the cultural sector and the public.

The event featured captivating performances by Honored Artists Sevda Alakbarzade and Isfar Sarabski, along with Ilkin Dovlatov and Bahruz Zeynalov. The program masterfully blended classical Azerbaijani jazz with compositions enriched by elements of traditional mugham.

Azerbaijani jazz holds a unique place in world music, known for its improvisational depth and the seamless fusion of Eastern and Western musical traditions. The concert in Zagreb marked a significant opportunity to present this rich cultural legacy to an international audience.

The program also served as a valuable platform for cultural diplomacy – fostering intercultural dialogue, promoting Azerbaijani culture globally, and laying the foundation for potential future collaborations.
