The Icharishahar State Historical and Architectural Reserve (IHAR) held a commemorative event dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the Khojaly genocide.
Report informs that at the event held at the Baku House of Photography, the memory of the martyrs of the Second Karabakh War and the victims of the Khojaly genocide was first commemorated with a minute of silence.
IHAR Chairman Rufat Mahmud, Chairman of the Sabail District Organization of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) Mukhtar Naghiyev, Advisor to the Chairman of the Social Services Agency Maftuna Ismayilova, photographer Reza Deghati, Chairman of the Icharishahar Council of Elders Aliheydar Dadashov made speeches and emphasized that the genocide committed against the civilian population in Khojaly by the Armenian Armed Forces was a crime directed not only against the Azerbaijani people, but also against all humanity.
It was also noted that the blood of the Khojaly victims will not be left on the ground and that Khojaly will be revived.
In the artistic part of the event, an elegy dedicated to the martyrs was listened to, and young people with hearing and speech disabilities recited the poem “That Bloody Night” in a sign language. Then, the participants viewed the exhibition “Khojaly-Wounded Souls”.
The exhibition will be open to visitors until February 28, with the admission free.
