Los Angeles hosted the 82nd Golden Globe Awards, dedicated to recognize the most outstanding work in film and television, according to Kazinform News Agency.
The event, which was hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser, showcased the best pieces of the year in addition to the industry's star guest list.
Leading the night with four wins, Emilia Pérez was named Best Film – Musical or Comedy and Best non-English language film. This Jacques Audiard-directed musical drama about a transgender mariachi singer earned Zoe Saldaña Best Supporting Actress. The film had a total of ten nominations, marking it as a frontrunner this season.
The Brutalist followed with three awards, including Best Dramatic Film, Best Director for Brady Corbet, and Best Actor in a Drama for Adrien Brody. This historical drama centers on the life of a modernist architect and was a critical favorite with six nominations.
Demi Moore won Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy, her first award for acting, while Fernanda Torres took home Best Actress in Drama accolade.
On television, Shōgun was the top winner, earning four awards, including Best Drama Series. Its stars Hiroyuki Sanada, Anna Sawai, and Tadanobu Asano all won acting awards. Hacks took home Best Comedy Series, while Colin Farrell won Best Actor in a Limited Series for The Penguin.
Other noteworthy winners included The Challengers, given the Best Original Film Score, and Flow, which took up Best Animated Film. Viola Davis and Ted Danson received the Cecil B. DeMille Award and Carol Burnett Award respectively ahead of the event for their exceptional achievements to film and television.
Among the outstanding guest list for the evening were presenters Anya Taylor-Joy, Colin Farrell, Glenn Close, Jennifer Coolidge, and more. Attendees also received luxurious gift bags filled with high-end products and exclusive experiences.
