Russian Security Council Secretary presents WWII documentary collection to Azerbaijani Ambassador

A presentation of the documentary series “Republics – For the Front: 1941–1945,” dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in World War II, was held in Moscow on Thursday.

The publications were prepared through the joint efforts of the Office of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Russian Historical Society, and the Russian State University for the Humanities.

The event was attended by diplomats from several CIS countries, including Rahman Mustafayev, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Russia. In his address, Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of the Russian Security Council, emphasized the unparalleled contribution of the former Soviet republics to the collective Victory in World War II.

Highlighting the specific role of Azerbaijan, Sergei Shoigu noted the historical heroism of the distinguished commander, Major General Hazi Aslanov, who was twice awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.

During the ceremony, Secretary Shoigu presented a specialized documentary collection titled "The Heroism of Azerbaijan During the Second World War" to Ambassador Rahman Mustafayev.
