“ASAN Khidmet” concept to be implemented in Pakistan

On September 8-10, a delegation led by Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of Azerbaijan, visited the city of Islamabad at the invitation of the Government of Pakistan.

Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan received Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of the State Agency, and hosted a government meeting regarding the establishment of “ASAN Khidmet” center in Pakistan.

The meeting featured presentation of the “ASAN Khidmet” concept, which has been proposed for implementation in Pakistan.

Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said he was deeply impressed by "ASAN Khidmet," which was established at the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev, adding that it would be a revolutionary step in improving the public services delivery in Pakistan.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif underlined that the “ASAN Khidmet” initiative would also contribute to advancing the Government of Pakistan’s “cashless economy” policy. The Pakistani Prime Minister noted that following its implementation in the capital Islamabad, it would be expanded to other cities and provinces.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for the support in the process of establishing the “ASAN Khidmet” center in Pakistan, underscoring that the project would further enhance economic cooperation between the two countries.

Following the meeting, an "Agreement on Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on the implementation of the "ASAN Khidmet" experience in Pakistan," was signed with the participation of Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

The “ASAN Khidmet” Center is expected to begin operations in Pakistan in the near future, as part of the implementation of the agreement.

The Chairman of the State Agency also met with Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, and inspected the infrastructure designated for the future operation of the “ASAN Khidmet” Center in Islamabad.

During his visit to Pakistan, the Chairman of the State Agency also visited the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Islamabad and laid flowers at the monument of National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev.

Khazar Farhadov, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, also attended the events and meetings held during the visit.
