Protecting the rights of peoples of African descent and supporting their struggle against global injustices remain pressing issues in today's world, said Colombian Pastor Elias Murillo Martinez, Member of the United Nations Permanent Forum on People of African Descent, as he addressed the international scientific conference on "Imperial Structure: Colonial Ideologies and Realities” held in Baku.

Noting that no one in the world is absolutely immune to racism and inequality, Pastor Elias Murillo Martinez added: “Peoples of African descent have historically been among the earliest and most profoundly affected victims of colonialism and slavery.
