“Islamophobia is not just discrimination against religious beliefs. It is a deeply rooted and systematic issue,” said Yahya Pallavicini, Chairman of the EULEMA, Imam and President of the Italian CO.RE.IS. (Islamic Religious Community) at the plenary session on Institutionalization of Anti-Muslim Legislation in Europe: Rhetoric in the Context of Radicalization of Islamophobic Propaganda held as part of the international conference titled “Islamophobia in Focus: Unveiling Bias, Shattering Stigmas.”
Emphasizing that it is necessary to study not only the consequences of Islamophobia but also its history, philosophical, and ideological roots, EULEMA President Yahya Pallavicini added: “Our scholars should pay more attention to this topic in their works, conduct research, and contribute to enhancing knowledge in this field. Moreover, information should not be limited to academic audiences but should be presented in an accessible and engaging manner for the public as well.”
