Egypt’s widely viewed Nile TV channel has broadcast a special program on Azerbaijan.
The live program, titled "The Daily Debate," focused on the historical significance of Azerbaijan's Independence Day, as well as economic, cultural, and tourism-related relations between Egypt and Azerbaijan. Video segments featuring Azerbaijani culture, art, and tourism destinations were also aired.
Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Egypt Elkhan Polukhov was a guest on the program. He emphasized the strong political relations between the two countries and noted the considerable potential for further development in the economic sphere. During the discussion, particular attention was given to opportunities for bilateral cooperation in investment, mutual trade expansion, agriculture, industry, construction, infrastructure, education, transport, energy, digital technology, renewable energy, biotechnology, oil, and pharmaceuticals.
He underlined that the visits of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to Baku in 2023 and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Egypt in 2024 have significantly contributed to advancing bilateral cooperation.
The ambassador also discussed new international transit routes involving Azerbaijan and the possibilities for Egypt to benefit from them.
Highlighting the deep, centuries-old friendship between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Egypt, the ambassador noted the establishment of partnership (sister-city) relations between various cities and regions of the two countries.
He emphasized that the existence of the Azerbaijan-Egypt Friendship Park in Egypt and the installation of a monument to National Leader Heydar Aliyev there are clear indicators of the high level of cultural and friendly relations between the two nations.
