National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s anniversary celebrated in Bucharest

An event marking the 102nd anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held in Bucharest.

Organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Romania, the event was organized in front of the monument to National Leader in the Tei Park.

Prior to the event, wreaths and fresh flowers were laid in front of the monument, and the memory of the National Leader was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Addressing the event, Gudsi Osmanov, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Romania, highlighted the life and activities of the genius Heydar Aliyev. The diplomat highlighted National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s unparalleled contributions to the nation and state, noting that his political line, as in all areas, is successfully continued by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in foreign policy.

Dan Iancu, General Director of the Department for Eastern Neighbourhood of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Romania, Cristian-Augustin Niculescu-Ţâgârlaş, Chairman of the Media and Culture Committee of the Senate of the Romanian Parliament, Özgür Kıvanç Altan, Turkish Ambassador to Romania, Victor Kirilă, Ambassador of Moldova to Romania, and other notable speakers underlined that Heydar Aliyev, who dedicated his life to serving the Azerbaijani people and took pride in his national identity, is always remembered with deep respect and gratitude. The speakers also highlighted National Leader’s special role in fostering relations between Azerbaijan and Romania.

As part of the event, a photo exhibition dedicated to the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was arranged around the monument.
