Chairman of Pakistan’s Upper House of Parliament arrives in Moscow

Chairman of the Pakistan’s Upper House of Parliament (Senate) Yousuf Raza Gilani arrived in the Russian capital Moscow on an official visit. The high-level visit is aimed at strengthening parliamentary ties and enhancing cooperation between Pakistan and the Russian Federation.

During his visit, the Chairman Senate is scheduled to meet the Speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Valentina Matviyenko. The discussions will focus on bolstering bilateral relations, expanding trade and economic collaboration, and enhancing parliamentary exchanges.

The two leaders are expected to emphasize the importance of high-level dialogue in fostering mutual understanding and exploring new avenues of cooperation in areas of shared interest, including energy, security and regional connectivity.

The Chairman Senate is visiting Moscow at the invitation of Valentina Matviyenko, and is scheduled to hold high-level meetings with senior Russian government officials during his stay in the capital. The discussions between the two countries will mainly revolve around boosting trade and economic cooperation, including exploring collaboration in energy, connectivity, and security.
