National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s 102nd anniversary marked in Stockholm

An event commemorating the 102nd anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, was arranged at the Azerbaijani Embassy in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden.

The event brought together employees of the Embassy and members of the Azerbaijani diaspora organizations.

In his remarks, Ambassador Zaur Ahmadov, mentioned that National Leader Heydar Aliyev led Azerbaijan both during the former Soviet era and the years of independence, adding that in both periods, he has managed to build a country on a solid foundation, ensuring the country’s development and its rightful place among the family of world nations.

 

"Today, the soul of our National Leader is rejoicing. Because under the leadership of Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, our lands have been liberated from occupation and our territorial integrity has been restored. Under the visionary leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan continues to evolve rapidly in all areas based on those solid foundations. As long as the Azerbaijani people live, the blessed memory of the National Leader will always be remembered with great respect and reverence," Ahmadov added.

 

The event featured the screening of a video highlighting the life and activity of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

 

Then, Aynur Malikova, an Azerbaijani pianist living in Sweden, performed the music pieces of composers beloved by Heydar Aliyev, such as "Girls' Choir" by the founder of Azerbaijani music Uzeyir Hajibeyli, "24 Preludes" series by Gara Garayev, and "Waltz" by Fikrat Amirov.
