Azerbaijan’s pet food imports to rise by over 40% by 2027

Russia's profits from pet food exports to Azerbaijan are projected to rise by 58.3% by 2027 compared to 2023, Report informs, citing the Federal Center for the Development of Agricultural Exports (Agroexport) under the Russian Agriculture Ministry.

Azerbaijan ranks among the top 10 most promising buyers of these products from Russia.

In 2023, Azerbaijan imported 8,700 tons of pet food, valued at $14 million. Of that, 3,300 tons worth $4.8 million from Russia.

Agroexpor predicts that by 2026, Azerbaijan's overall pet food imports may rise by 3,500 tons or 40.2% to 12,200 tons. Also, the value of these imports could increase by $4.6 million or 32.8% to $18.6 million.

By 2027, Russian pet food supplies to Azerbaijan are expected to grow by 2,500 or 75.7% tons to 5,800 tons. The value of these imports might rise by $2.8 million or 58.3% to $7.6 million.

Agroexport estimates that Russia's share in the value of Azerbaijan's pet food imports will increase from 38.2% in 2023 to 40.9% by 2027.
