Lachin hosts opening ceremony of Fifth Diaspora Youth Summer Camp

Azerbaijan’s city of Lachin hosted Friday the opening ceremony of the Fifth Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth under the moto “Youth for Green World”.

In his opening remarks, Masim Mammadov, Special Representative of the Azerbaijani President in Lachin district, highlighted the ongoing development of the district as he hailed the importance of holding the summer camp in Lachin.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Farah Aliyeva, Head of the Department of Humanitarian Policy, Diaspora, Multiculturalism and Religious Issues of the Administration of the President of Azerbaijan commended the participation of the educated and patriotic young people in the summer camp.

Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, highlighted the ongoing large-scale restoration works in the liberated territories. He praised heroism of the Azerbaijani Army led by Victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. The Committee chairman also pointed out the pivotal role of the youth in delivering the Azerbaijani realities to the world community. Fuad Muradov emphasized that President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva always keep the Azerbaijani compatriots, as well as the Azerbaijani communities operating abroad in the spotlight.

Other speakers included Farid Jafarov, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Culture Minister and Elvin Aslanov, representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

The event also featured a concert program.

Co-organized by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the summer camp will run until August 7, bringing together 115 young people from 60 countries, including Azerbaijanis.
