Rabat hosts presentation of documentary about Azerbaijan

The High Institute of Audiovisual and Cinema Professions (ISMAC) in Rabat, Morocco, hosted Thursday a presentation of the “Azerbaijan - the Pearl of the Caucasus” documentary film by journalist and director Chouaib Brhadda with the support of Azerbaijan’s Embassy in the Kingdom of Morocco.

Vugar Aliyev, Chairman of the Board of Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC), Ahmad Ismayilov, Executive Director of the Media Development Agency, Ismat Sattarov, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Audiovisual Council, Latifa Akharbach, President of the High Authority for Audiovisual Communication of Morocco (HACA), as well as the local media representatives, public figures, and the ISMAC students attended the event.

The film highlighted the visit of a group of Moroccan journalists to Azerbaijan this February, facilitated by Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Work with Diaspora. The documentary also provided an overview about the Azerbaijani history, culture, traditions, as well as the country’s political and economic relations. It also covered the journalists’ trip to the Azerbaijani liberated territories, including the city of Shusha, and the ongoing restoration process there. The film also touched upon the snap presidential elections held in Azerbaijan on February 7 this year.

Addressing the event, Nazim Samadov, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Morocco hailed the development of the Azerbaijan-Morocco relations, stressing that the countries attach special attention to expanding humanitarian ties along with political and economic ones. The diplomat said that the visit of the Moroccan journalists, as well as the meetings held during the trip had contributed to bolstering humanitarian ties between the two countries.

Chouaib Brhadda, as well as other journalists, who visited Azerbaijan, then shared their impressions from the trip as they praised Azerbaijan’s rich history and culture.
