In the next 10-15 years, Azerbaijan could significantly strengthen its position on the global energy map thanks to its geographic location and flexible foreign policy strategy, said Cyril Widdershoven, an expert on global energy markets, geopolitics, energy risks, and security, in the latest episode of the "Azerbaijan and the World" program broadcast on the AZERTAC website.
According to him, the key factor will be not only the growth of energy production but also the efficient use of the country's transit potential.
The expert noted that interaction with regions such as Central Asia, as well as promising cooperation with Iran and Iraq, create the conditions for expanding energy flows.
He emphasized that Azerbaijan already serves as a bridge between East and West, connecting the energy markets of various regions. Widdershoven believes that in the future, the country could become a key strategic asset for Europe in the area of energy security and sustainable development.
