Azerbaijan and Black Sea Trade and Development Bank explore cooperation

Sahil Babayev, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Finance and Governor for Azerbaijan at the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank, met with a delegation from the Bank led by its President Serhat Köksal.

The meeting focused on the current state of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the BSTDB, as well as prospects for future development. Minister Babayev praised the Bank’s contributions to Azerbaijan’s economic growth and the strengthening of regional economic cooperation in the Black Sea area. He noted that the Bank’s next annual meeting, scheduled to be held in Baku in July 2026, will provide an important platform for further enhancing regional financial collaboration.

Serhat Köksal emphasized the strategic importance of cooperation with Azerbaijan, highlighting that the country’s economic reforms and favorable investment climate create new opportunities for international financial institutions.

During the talks, the officials also discussed Azerbaijan’s participation in the Bank’s capital subscription increase, ensuring balanced geographical representation of member countries within the Bank’s management structure, and other issues of mutual interest.
