China Global Television Network (CGTN), operated by China Media Group and China Central Television, has broadcast a report by Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) on the investment partnership between Azerbaijan and China.

Highlighting the expansion of economic ties and the steady growth in trade turnover in recent years, the report noted that Chinese companies are actively engaged in various sectors of Azerbaijan’s economy.

Citing Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy, the report stated that trade turnover between the two countries reached approximately $4.9 billion, marking an increase of around 30.16 percent compared to 2024. Following the elevation of bilateral relations, economic cooperation has intensified, with about 394 Chinese companies currently operating in Azerbaijan across industry, agriculture, transport, construction, trade, and services.

The report also featured comments from representatives of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy and a Chinese company operating in the country. Particular emphasis was placed on the strengthening partnership in renewable energy, which has become a core component of bilateral economic relations.

It further highlighted the state visit of President Ilham Aliyev to China last year, during which cooperation documents in the field of renewable energy were signed between Azerbaijani and Chinese companies. The report underscored that Azerbaijan’s substantial wind and solar energy potential, combined with China’s advanced green technology expertise, has created a high-impact platform for the implementation of joint projects.

In conclusion, the report noted that beyond traditional sectors such as trade, transport, energy, and agriculture, cooperation between the two countries has expanded to include the digital economy, green energy, and artificial intelligence.
