SOCAR produced 7.1 million tons of oil and 7.8 billion cubic meters of gas in 2025

In 2025, the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) carried out 66,000 meters of drilling operations. Fields operated independently or with SOCAR as the primary shareholder produced 7.1 million tons of oil and 7.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas last year.

The company’s total natural gas production increased by 1.4% compared to 2024. On a national scale, gas production rose by 2.1% over the previous year, reaching a total of 51.5 billion cubic meters. Overall, Azerbaijan produced 27.7 million tons of oil in 2025.

During the reporting period, SOCAR exported 16.1 million tons of oil to international markets. This volume includes oil produced directly by the company, as well as the profit oil shares of both the Republic of Azerbaijan and SOCAR from international consortia operating in the country. Nationwide natural gas exports reached 25.2 billion cubic meters, while domestic consumption totaled 13.2 billion cubic meters. Notably, domestic gas consumption decreased by 3.1%, a result of the increased contribution of renewable energy sources to the national electricity grid.

In the downstream sector, SOCAR processed more than 6.2 million tons of oil and over 3 billion cubic meters of gas last year. Oil processing saw a robust increase of 7.2% compared to 2024. Additionally, 2.2 million tons of oil, petrochemical, and gas-chemical products manufactured at SOCAR’s facilities in Azerbaijan were exported to foreign markets.
