Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov met with Assistant Minister of Energy for Electricity Affairs of Saudi Arabia Nasser Al-Qahtani on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of “Khizi-Absheron” Wind Power Plant.

Durijng the meeting, the sides hailed the strong friendly and partnership relations between the two countries.

The 240 MW “Khizi-Absheron” Wind Power Plant, constructed by Saudi Arabia's ACWA Power, was praised as a symbol of brotherhood and partnership. It was noted that this cooperation will be enhanced with other promising projects.

During the conversation, the two exchanged views on cooperation with Saudi Arabia in the “OPEC+” format, in the areas of hydrocarbons, renewable energy, energy efficiency and regulation. The parties also reviewed the opportunities for cooperation to enhance regional connectivity in the energy sector and increase energy interconnectivity between Central Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
