An Azerbaijani delegation led by Majnun Mammadov, Minister of Agriculture, is on an official visit to Georgia.
As part of the visit, the delegation paid tribute to National Leader Heydar Aliyev by visiting his monument in the Heydar Aliyev Culture and Recreation Park in Tbilisi and laying flowers.
A bilateral meeting was then held between Minister Majnun Mammadov and Georgia’s Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture David Songulashvili, followed by an expanded meeting with the delegations. The discussions focused on prospects for cooperation in the agricultural sector between the two countries.
Minister Songulashvili emphasized that Georgia and Azerbaijan are friendly nations with shared interests in strengthening partnership, particularly in agriculture. He noted Georgia’s interest in learning from Azerbaijan’s experience in digitalization, “smart village” initiatives, and greenhouse projects to enhance trade and cooperation in agriculture.
Minister Mammadov outlined Azerbaijan’s agrarian development strategy and innovative projects currently being implemented.
Discussions covered increasing trade in agricultural and food products, modern technology transfer, digitalization, internship programs in scientific research, and both bilateral and international collaboration in agriculture. Other issues of mutual interest were also addressed during the meetings.
