On September 12, Bakhtiyar Mammadov, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, met with a delegation led by Kürşat Zorlu, Deputy Chairman of Türkiye’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) responsible for relations with Turkic states.
AZERTAC’s regional correspondent reports that the meeting highlighted the importance of the political activities of National Leader Heydar Aliyev during the Nakhchivan period in enhancing ties between Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
The sides hailed the fact that today, with joint efforts of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Türkiye, the relations between the two countries have risen to the level of strategic partnership. The parties also emphasized the importance of Nakhchivan in these relations considering the opening of the Zangezur Corridor.
