As part of the 17th International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF 2025) held in Istanbul, Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) and Azerbaijan's MİRAS Defence Industry Company have signed a cooperation protocol to work together on projects in the defence and aerospace industries.

TUSAŞ and MİRAS will work together to modernise planes and helicopters as part of the deal. The protocol also includes working together on maintenance and repair services, in addition to updating these platforms. The two businesses have decided to work together on marketing efforts outside of their own countries.

The treaty allows TUSAŞ and MİRAS do modernisation, maintenance, and repairs not just on air platforms owned by Türkiye and Azerbaijan, but also on those owned by other nations.

The goal of this strategic initiative is to improve the military industries of both countries in more areas while strengthening the long-standing friendship between Türkiye and Azerbaijan through sophisticated technology collaboration.
