Azerbaijan, Belarus discuss expansion of cooperation

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy hosted a meeting with a Belarusian delegation led by Tatyana Lugina, Chairperson of Bellegprom-the State Concern for the Production and Sale of Light Industry Goods to discuss cooperation in the field of light industry and opportunities for mutual investment.

Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Economy, Sahib Alakbarov, informed the delegation about the existing opportunities in the production and sale of light industry goods in Azerbaijan, emphasizing that there is significant potential for expanding trade, industrial, and investment cooperation between the two countries.

He also highlighted Azerbaijan’s favorable business environment, industrial zones, transit and logistics capabilities, incentives offered to investors in the liberated territories, and support mechanisms in place for the development of entrepreneurship.

Tatyana Lugina emphasized Belarus’s interest in partnering to establish joint production facilities and integrate technological solutions. She also provided insight into Belarus’s light industry sector, including the production and export capacities of the concern.

She underlined the importance of the light industry sector in terms of supplying the domestic market, generating employment, and promoting regional development, and noted initiatives related to recycling technologies and the production of innovative goods.

The heads of participating enterprises discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in the light industry sector, especially in textiles, and presented proposals concerning mutual investment, collaboration in industrial parks, exchange of experience, and training of personnel.

Participants exchanged detailed views on the development of cooperation between Azerbaijani and Belarusian companies.
