As of June 1, 2025, there were 1,625,480 taxpayers in Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing the State Tax Service under the country's Ministry of Economy.
This figure is 4.4% more year-on-year.
According to the state service, 86.9% of taxpayers were individuals, 13.1% were legal entities and other organizations. Over the past year, the number of individual entrepreneurs increased by 3.9%, while the number of companies grew by 7.7%.
By the end of May, there were 196,485 commercial entities in the country. This is 8.3% more compared to a year ago.
Figures indicate that 91.7% of commercially registered legal entities were limited liability companies (LLC), 1.1% were joint-stock companies (JSC), 1.1% were cooperatives.
In January-May 2025 alone, 6,236 commercial entities were registered by the state, of which 89.1% are locally invested and 10.9% are foreign invested.
Also, 85.7% of commercial entities were registered online. The share of e-registration of locally invested LLCs was 96.8%.
