Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan Sarvan Jafarov met with a delegation led by Bilal Azhar Kayani, Minister of State of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, on the sidelines of the 18th Azerbaijan International Agriculture Exhibition.
Deputy Minister Jafarov provided participants with detailed information on the state support mechanisms for the agricultural sector in Azerbaijan. He highlighted the dynamic development of Azerbaijan-Pakistan relations across various fields, including agriculture, and emphasized the mutual interest in expanding cooperation in this area. “Both countries are currently assessing the potential for collaboration across all agricultural platforms,” he noted.
Minister of State Bilal Azhar Kayani affirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to strengthening ties with Azerbaijan, describing the country as a trusted friend and expressing interest in deepening cooperation in all sectors.
During the meeting, the sides discussed enhancing agricultural collaboration and strengthening the legal and contractual framework between the two countries. They reviewed the activities of the joint working group on agriculture, shared information on high-potential export products, and explored ways to increase trade turnover in agricultural and food products.
Discussions also covered expanding business-to-business ties, organizing joint agribusiness forums, promoting the participation of entrepreneurs from both countries in agricultural exhibitions, and advancing cooperation in digital agriculture. The parties also addressed the transfer of modern technologies for climate-resilient agriculture and the implementation of exchange programs in agricultural research and education
