According to operational data, electricity generation in Azerbaijan amounted to 2,493.4 million kWh in January 2025, Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov wrote on X, Report informs.
The minister stated that the country’s electricity exports for the reporting period stood at 157.4 million kWh and imports at 11.2 million kWh.
“Compared to the same period last year, electricity generation from renewable energy sources, including hydropower plants, increased by 96.4 million kWh, reaching a total of 268.5 million kWh,” Shahbazov highlighted.
In January 2025, hydroelectric power plants (HPPs) accounted for 218.3 million kWh of Azerbaijan’s total electricity generation, wind power plants (WPPs) for 2.9 million kWh, solar power plants (SPPs) for 26.4 million kWh, and solid household waste plants for 20.9 million kWh.
