Starting from December 1, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) began supplying natural gas to Slovakia's largest state-owned energy supplier, SPP.

The gas supply is part of a short-term pilot agreement between SOCAR and SPP, with both companies aiming to establish a longer-term energy partnership.

This new supply route allows SOCAR to further diversify its export markets. With this agreement, Slovakia becomes the 12th country to receive Azerbaijani gas, joining other nations such as Türkiye, Georgia, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, and North Macedonia.
