Equal opportunities for Girls: Trendyol and UNFPA to work towards women's empowerment

"Trendyol, the leading e-commerce platform in Türkiye and one of the top e-commerce platforms in the world launched a joint campaign with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Office in Azerbaijan under the slogan “Knowledge is the Key to Empowerment: Keep Learning and Exploring New Horizons!”

Dedicated to the International Day of the Girl Child, the campaign seeks to raise public awareness about the importance of creating equal opportunities for girls and empowering them. By emphasizing the tools and support necessary for their empowerment, the campaign highlights the strength, resilience, and potential of young girls.

As part of the campaign, an event titled “Empowering Girls for Sustainable Development” was held. The event brought together more than 100 young girls from different regions of Azerbaijan. The participants held meaningful discussions on girls' empowerment through the application of education and technology with women leaders and gender equality champions.

During a panel discussion, prominent women leaders shared their experiences and underscored the importance of ensuring equal rights and opportunities for girls to realize their full potential.

Trendyol supports women through various initiatives that empower them, including their entry into the labor market and their first steps toward career development. One of these initiatives, “Villages of Tomorrow,” is being carried out in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme. The project aims to expand the reach of local products and artisan crafts by promoting women entrepreneurs, minimize the digital gap by extending Trendyol's technological resources to rural areas, stimulate employment, and bolster rural development.

Through its “Future is Women” and “Strong Women Program,” Trendyol continues to support women’s entrepreneurial activities and ensures that better opportunities are available for women.

Additionally, Trendyol, in collaboration with various partners, aims to improve the green business and eco-leadership skills of women entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan.

Having been involved in various social projects, Trendyol will continue collaborating with UNFPA to empower girls and strengthen their digital skills.
