Azerbaijan, EBRD mull green energy corridors

Azerbaijan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) discussed the projects of creating the Caspian-Black Sea-Europe and Azerbaijan-Central Asia-Europe green energy corridors.

Report informs, citing Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Energy, that the discussions were held during the meeting between Deputy Minister Orkhan Zeynalov and EBRD Managing Director for Türkiye and the Caucasus Elisabetta Falcetti.

The EBRD official was informed about the steps taken towards the creation of these green energy corridors, initiatives related to COP29 and planned actions in the field of energy.

During the meeting, the Azerbaijani side expressed satisfaction with the current cooperation with the EBRD in the energy sector. The meeting participants reviewed current projects in the fields of renewable energy, energy efficiency and transition to low-carbon energy, and exchanged views on future cooperation opportunities.

The progress of the auction process for the Gobustan Solar Power Station, which was implemented with the support of the EBRD, was evaluated.
