COP29 will feature a "Finance, Investment, and Trade Day" on November 19, Yusif Abdullayev, Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), said at the conference themed "The Role of Small and Medium Businesses in the Green Economy," Report informs.

Abdullayev noted that the Baku Initiative on Climate Finance, Investment, and Trade Dialogue, one of the 14 initiatives on COP29's agenda, promotes the integration of finance, investment, and trade to combat climate change and achieve sustainable development goals. This initiative underscores Azerbaijan's commitment to driving global climate action through innovative collaborations and partnerships.

On the same day, AZPROMO plans to organize a Business, Investment, and Philanthropy Platform event as part of the Finance, Investment, and Trade Day, he said. This platform aims to foster connections between foreign investors supporting climate goals and relevant local companies, aligning climate commitments with investable projects.

According to Abdullayev, AZPROMO and the World Economic Forum will co-host two discussion sessions: one focusing on connecting foreign investors with local companies supporting climate goals, and another on aligning climate commitments with investable project. "These sessions will take place in the ‘Trade and Investment House’ pavilions, located in both the blue and green zones, running parallel to each other. The pavilions will also host events dedicated to finance and trade, sustainable industrial production, decarbonization, and other related topics," Abdullayev said.
