International conference on “Paperless Government: Environmental Impact of Digitalization and Innovation” underway in Baku

An international conference titled “Paperless Government: Environmental Impact of Digitalization and Innovation,” in cooperation with the "29 Climate Conversations: The Road to COP29" Program, has commenced in Baku.

The event was co-organized by Azerbaijan’s Innovation and Digital Development Agency in collaboration with the United Nations in Azerbaijan.

Samir Mammadov, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport, delivered the opening speech, highlighting the country’s active role in combating global climate change.

He emphasized that the principles of environmental protection and sustainable development, bolstered by digitalization and innovation, form the cornerstone of Azerbaijan’s vision for the future.

“The COP29 summit is of great importance for showcasing Azerbaijan's initiatives in digital transformation and sustainability through innovative solutions, the "green" economy, and environmental protection,” said Samir Mammadov.

The conference aims to foster joint action and dialogue among different sectors to address the global climate crisis, focusing on the intersection of digital transformation and environmental sustainability.
