Meetings held as part of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum highlight relations between Azerbaijan and Russia

An Azerbaijani delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev participated in the 27th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The Azerbaijani delegation held a number of meetings on the sidelines of the forum.

During the meeting with Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation Maxim Oreshkin, the sides highlighted the special role of the heads of state in the comprehensive development of Azerbaijan-Russia cooperation at the level of strategic partnership, built on the foundations of friendship and good neighbourliness. They also hailed the promotion of trade relations, the creation of clusters within the economic cooperation, the holding of Azerbaijan-Russia interregional forums, the advancement of activities in economic zones, and enhancement of the capabilities of border checkpoints.

Shahin Mustafayev also met with Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary as they explored various aspects of cooperation between the two countries. The two highlighted the importance of mutual contacts and reciprocal visits in evolving bilateral, including multilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Hungary.

The meeting with Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Dagestan of the Russian Federation Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov discussed cooperation across various domains, including cooperation within the North-South International Transport Corridor.

At a meeting with Head of the Republic of Ingushetia of the Russian Federation, Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov, the parties underscored the special importance of holding the Azerbaijan-Russia interregional forums, regularly organized business forums, as well as the implementation of business missions between the regions of the two countries.

Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev also had a meeting with Saint Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov. The pair described the Petersburg International Economic Forum as a key platform for exploring Azerbaijan’s economic development issues and cooperation with Petersburg.
