The Young Agro-Entrepreneurs project is particularly relevant as Azerbaijan prepares to host COP29, UK Ambassador to Azerbaijan Fergus Auld said at the opening conference of the Young Agro-Entrepreneurs project funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) on Friday, Report informs.

According to him, participants from all over the world will gather in Baku when COP29 will be held: “British researchers, scientists, business circles and officials, including those involved in plant science and sustainable agriculture are ready to join the discussion.”

The ambassador said that the world is facing many complex and rapidly developing problems:

“Growing population demands safe and abundant food. Dwindling water resources must be managed more efficiently. The effects of climate change are already felt and agriculture must be adapted to build resilience to them. Given the magnitude of these challenges, finding innovative approaches in agriculture is now more important than ever.

We also know that young people often struggle to find meaningful and secure work opportunities in their local communities. Thus, the British Embassy in Azerbaijan is proud to fund our valued partners.”
