Steffi Stallmeister: "AZTAF is an important step towards sustainable development of Azerbaijan"

The Azerbaijan Rapid Technical Assistance Facility (AZTAF) project, financed by the European Union (EU) and managed by the World Bank, is an important step towards the sustainable development of the country, Steffi Stallmeister, the World Bank's manager for Azerbaijan, said in a statement to journalists, Report informs.

Stallmeister said that Azerbaijan is committed to the energy transition, increasing the participation of women in the labor market and adapting to climate change.

She noted that the AZTAF project is of particular importance as a significant step towards the sustainable development of Azerbaijan.

The total budget of AZTAF is 5.25 million euros, and this is a three-year program.

In February 2022, the European Union and the World Bank signed an Administrative Agreement on the Azerbaijan Rapid Technical Assistance Facility. The AZTAF program includes specific activities that meet the urgent priorities of the government. These activities will support a wide range of government priorities such as governance of public enterprises, public procurement, water resources management, smart villages, digital development, energy efficiency, women's entrepreneurship, disability and inclusivity.
