Assets of Central Bank of Azerbaijan rise by 13%

As of January 1, 2024, the assets of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) stood at 34,793,463,000 manats (about $20.5 billion), up 12% from the previous year, Report informs, referring to the CBA.

In the structure of the CBA assets, 27.04 billion manats (about $14.1 billion) were debt securities (22.8% more than the previous year), 5.62 billion manats (about $3.31 billion) – money and their equivalents (-14.5%), 1.2 billion manats ($710.6 million) – SDR (+1%).

In 2023, the Central Bank’s liabilities surged 11.2% to 33,239,248,000 manats (about $19.5 billion), banknotes and coins in the circulation went up 17.7% to 17.3 billion manats (about $10.2 billion), liabilities to the credit institutions increased by 5.7% to 6.5 billion manats (about $3.83 billion), liabilities to government bodies dropped by 12.2% to 3.75 billion manats (about $2.21 billion), liabilities on operations with the IMF went up 1% to 1.2 billion manats (about $712.8 million).

During the year, the balance capital of the bank increased by 58.5% and reached 1.55 billion manats (about $914.2 million), while the authorized capital remained unchanged at 500 million manats (about $294 million).
