Over the past 5 years, including the years of the COVID-19 pandemic, 70,000 new jobs have been created every year in the non-oil and gas sector of Azerbaijan, the Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, said at the Azerbaijan-Türkiye Investment Forum, Report informs.

"This is only the number of people working in the private sector with an employment contract, and the figure is more than the number of people entering the labor market in Azerbaijan every year. If we take into account retirees—every year some of them leave the labor market—this means that the number of new jobs created in Azerbaijan in the last 5 years exceeds the number of people entering the labor market. This is primarily due to the business environment and the opportunities created for the private sector," the minister added.
